Another Points Spectacle in the Champ. League?

It’s the start of the second round of the Champ. League group stage starts and so we get an exact repetition of the last matchday, only with different venues. Last week there were decent points in the race and I’m sure there were some lineups that will clearly factor into the scoring in the Season Mode. It will be interesting to see which tactical changes the coaches will make compared to the first leg and to what extent the course of the games will change in that respect. Of course, I’ve taken a closer look at this matchday as well to introduce you to some interesting players, especially with a view to the Season Mode.

Matchday 4a

Marcāo (64₵, Sevilla): Sevilla has had an extremely turbulent start to the season so far. Currently, they are in 18th place in La Liga and there was coach change last week already for the Spaniards. The new head coach on the sidelines is Jorge Sampaoli and in his first league game at the weekend he was able to bring in a draw against Athletic Bilbao, who are currently in 3rd place. In his coaching debut, Marcāo also made his first starting eleven appearance and showed a solid performance, which is why I expect him to start in central defense against Dortmund as well. So, for 64 credits you get a very good value defender in Marcāo, who will definitely be in demand a few times against BVB.

Youssouffa Moukoko (77₵, Dortmund): The Dortmund youngster excelled once again against Bayern at the weekend and proved his ability. In his current form, the just 17-year-old striker should have secured himself a place in the starting eleven, which is why he offers a good alternative to Mbappe, Haaland, Neymar & Co. for 77 credits. Moreover, Dortmund is playing at home, which is why I expect BVB to take control of the game, which means Moukoko will often be found in front of the Spanish visitors’ goal.

Luka Sučic (66₵, Salzburg): Sucic had four shots in last week’s 1-0 win over Zagreb, three of which were on goal. The Croatia midfielder was particularly noticeable going forward, leading Salzburg in both shots and chances created in the win. So, for a market value of just 66 credits, he offers you a solid pick in midfield, especially if you want to go with the more expensive players in attack.

Matchday 4b

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (100₵, Napoli): Things couldn’t be going better for Napoli and Kvaratskhelia at the moment. In both Serie A and Champ. League Group A, they are in first place. On Wednesday, the return match against Ajax will take place and this time the Italians will play in front of their own fans. There will certainly not be another 1:6, however, Napoli with their current form goes into this game as clear favorites and therefore my eyes fall on the man from Georgia. In the Champ. League, Kvaratskhelia has one goal, two assists & 5.3 shots per game on his stat sheet so far in three games, which makes him a good option for your offense.

Noussair Mazraoui (84₵, Bayern): Due to the many absences at FC Bayern, two very good SPITCH picks move into the starting eleven of FCB, firstly Noussair Mazraoui, who will most likely play the complete 90th minutes due to the absence of Davies and secondly Josip Stanišić. With both full-backs, I think they will be able to get involved in the offense frequently against Plzen and thus score a lot of points for you and at a fairly manageable price.

Pedro Goncalves (88₵, Sporting): Goncalves is playing a strong season so far at Sporting. In the league, he puts his tally at five goals and three assists after nine games, but there are also four yellow cards already on his account. In the Champ. League, the Portuguese could not really prove his class so far and his points yield was rather poor. Last season he had an average of 300 points in the Champ. League, so I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before he can show his form in the top flight.
